FSI Cloud increases IT support to Vertex with the introduction of new technologies to support their growing business.
Vertex Services Group Ltd., an independently-owned building services maintenance company, was established in 2005.
Vertex operates in the South East through four units: Mobile Services, Resident Site Operations, Fabric Maintenance and Special Projects spanning the full spectrum of building services management support.
Vertex has seen rapid growth over the past few years and was looking at how technology could help them become more efficient and productive to meet the demands of their business. FSI Cloud had been providing IT support to Vertex for several years and in this time has introduced new technologies which have supported Vertex as they grew.
Vertex identified the amount of time engineers were spending on completing paper work and required a system that was flexible and easy to use and that enabled their engineers to complete essential maintenance documentation quickly and effectively. They also needed to share documents internally and externally in a secure manner.
Business continuity was an important factor for Vertex, having looked at different business impacting scenarios and how they could continue to provide high levels of customer service. They needed the ability to access their systems anytime and anywhere. Remote desktop gave Vertex the flexibility to do this.
Vertex already host critical business applications with FSI Cloud, therefore embracing further cloud technologies was a natural progression as the company grew.
FSI Cloud introduced a sync and share file solution called ShareSync. This ticked all the boxes for Vertex, a collaboration tool which could be accessed from anywhere and that was secure and easy to use. FSI Cloud’s remote desktop solution was next introduced for business continuity purposes. A highly secure solution that could be accessed from anywhere on any machine provided Vertex this.
“I must say that ShareSync has become a very valuable tool that our engineers can all use”
Tony Gibson, Senior Contracts Manager, Vertex Services Group Limited
Paper documentation that engineers had once needed to complete is now available on-line and is instantly accessible. Documents can now be shared easily with customers via a secure link or internally with other members of staff. Detailed engineering documentation can also be updated using ShareSync ensuring engineers have the latest information available to them. With co-editing features, documents are version controlled and auditable.
Remote desktop has also been a success. Having access to a desktop anywhere at any time provides the Vertex management team with a high level of confidence that they can support their customers should a business continuity issue occur.
